Creating a Website

Final Project

Over the last week, we made a website. We used Adobe Dreamweaver to help us with a few videos showing us what to do. We had to make two pages on the project. One was for the homepage and the other was for the projects we did throughout the year. It made me smile when I saw all of the projects I did from when I started out to where I am now.

What I Learned

Along the way, I learned how websites work in general. I got to see the code behind every link and every word, I got to see how complicated it was and how it had to be exact for everything to work too. It was a little bit frustrating when something didn't go right, but it was easy to figure it out too. I learned that the process in making a website also took lots of time so you have to be patient in what you were doing.

How I did

In all honesty, I believe I did great on the assignment. I haven't learned about color yet so I let that one slide. Coding and creating websites is not easy, but I got through the task with a great looking webpage. I am proud that I was able to get it done while making it look as neat as I could. It was a little difficult at first, and I messed up quite a bit with the code, but I was able to fix it all.

Conclusion

At the beginning of the project, I had a lit of doubt I would be able to make a website, let alone finish it. But seeing what nice job I did on it makes me proud. It made me believe in myself more and will stop me from doubting myself. Throughout the project, I got a little upset that this was my last time in video for the year because when I saw all of the things i put on my projects page, It make me realize that even though it was schoolwork, I had lots of fun making it. This made me decide to do video and animation next year.

Challenge 3

We made our third challenge video. It was about a chase scene. We worked in a group and thought of ideas of what it should be about. We struggled to think . of ideas when one of our partners said it should be a scene about us stealing something. We quickly thought of stealing a wallet. 3 things we struggled with was finding the correct shots, knowing how many scenes we needed, and figuring out if it would take us a minute. I learned that it is easier to work with a group because it is easier to get ideas and solve bigger problems.

We decided to film on the top floor, the hallways, the stairs, and the downstairs back hallway. We all agreed on this location because it had everything we needed whether it was a wide environment, stairs, or trash bins.

We each chose our jobs during the film. I was the one being chased, and no disagreements took place as we chose our roles. We faced lots of challenges as we filmed. Sometimes we messed up during shots and that cost us some time. Other times, we didn't take shots correctly or had to take multiple shots resulting in more time being spent. One of the shots we messed up in we didn't retake. If i had to correct it, I would have gone back and did another shot correctly.

When I edited my film in premier, there were lots of things that went wrong. The computer started to put clips in the wrong spots, the fade out wouldn't go at the end of the song anymore, when i saved the video, one of the songs went missing and I had to delete it and redo it, and Sneak On the Lot (a sound effect and song website free of copyright) was down and I couldn't find any music. But I still learned and got better at editing videos. What I got better at was finding songs and sound effects. I plan to work on implementing more sound effects into my video next time I film.

Since I worked with my friends, filming went easy with no arguments at all. It was almost the perfect team. We all thought of great ideas and listened to everyone very well. We helped each other out and had lots of fun together. I wouldn't do anything to change what my group did.

Challenge 2

                                                                    Challenge 2

https://youtu.be/5v6WDU0Z8s8

In Ecomm,we made a point A to point B video. This taught us about camera positioning, shots, and angles. The video was about escaping detention. I was the main actress in the video.

Our video was about running away from a teacher while trying to escape the school. We start off in detention where I realize the teacher isn't watching me. I sneak out of the classroom and roll down the hall. Then I sprint towards the doors only to find a teacher turn the corner. She began to chase me and I run away.I sprint down the hall where a student slides across the floor as an obstacle. I get back up and resume running away from the teacher. I lose the teacher in the cafeteria and run out the front entrance.

Some of the actions we had were running, sliding, and rolling. We did wide shots, close up shots, and medium shots.

Working on the video was tough because there was a lot of mistakes we made. The stand for our camera wasn't working so we had to replace it and hide it in one of our camera shots. We also had problems with people in the hall walking in front of our shots and we had to retake because out was too long or we weren't ready to record.

There were a few things we could've fixed in the video. We needed to keep the student who slid in the shot as I was running up and down the hall. We also needed to fix the shot when the camera was fixed on the teacher running down the hall. We couldn't move the camera moving fast enough.

Otherwise, everything else went really well and we decided to do something silly at the end to celebrate. When I jumped of the edge, I threw my hands up in the air and screamed, the audio for that we took out, but we kept the footage which is still found at the end of the video.

Challenge 1

In Video, we just did our first challenge. The challenge was to make a video with the 6 shot system in it. We did Extreme wide shots, medium shots, close up hand shots, over the shoulder shots, close up shots, and extreme close up shots. It was very fun but challenging.

We had to learn how to use a camera stand and we used our school iPads to record. I had IPad 8. We used our school IDs to check them out like you would with a library book.

Next we had to set up and record. It was hard because some people walked in front of the shots and we had to restart. We also messed up or we had to do t the next day and forgot to wear the same clothes and had to record all over again. Thankfully we had our planning sheet so we didn’t forget what we had to do.

After we got our parts for the video, we edited them on the computer. We added music, text, and learn to cut out parts we didn’t need. That part was difficult to me, but really cool since I got to see how to edit a video. Hopefully next time it will be easier since I know what to do now.

Career Cruising Jobs.

We went onto carrier cruising look at our future jobs. It was very interesting as to what jobs I got mainly because if was mostly about animation and police academy. Both of these are jobs I would really like to do because they seem interesting and fun.

When it comes to animating, I will have to work on almost everything. 2-D animation is what I am working on so far at home when it comes to smooth movement. I watch videos on Youtube to pick up tips or see if I am doing it right. I also practice by drawing during my free time.

I also watch 3-D animations during my free time because I know nothing about it yet. It still doesn't make sense to me but I hope over time it will. But for now, I learned about modeling in Sketch-up and in the future will learn more about it in the future.

I won't talk much about being a police officer since I mostly want to focus things in E-Comm right now. But I hopefully will get tips from my friend and train for it in my free time as well.

Other than having a job as a police officer, I might also take up a job as an animator.I could help out my older brother create video games and voice act for him too, or I could do the same for other companies. If I don't use animation as a job, I could use it as a hobby and submit them to youtube. That would also be lots of fun.

3D house

In google sketch-up, we made a 3D house. It was fun but also very difficult. It required lots of detail and patience. We used seamless textures for the house and I learned how to tell if it is seamless
or not.

We had to look at floor plans and houses to make sure we were making our house right. We didn't have to make the inside of our house since that would've been really difficult, so we just made the outside. Then we animated it so you could see the different views of the house.

In order to make the house, we had to use many tools. We used the drawing tool to make the shape of the house and more. We used the push and pull tool to make the house 3D and the poles too. Then the move tool to move some of the sketches or stretch them out.

It was very difficult for me to use the eraser tool because if you erase something wrong then the entire thing gets erased. So you had to be very careful. Good thing I had something to undo most of my mistakes, it saved my life throughout the project.

The best memory I had of making the house was making the roof. I was using the move tool and just playing with the roof. I kept stretching it out and it crashed unexpectedly. I had to restart my entire house, but it was still really funny.

Bouncing ball surprise!

This is my ball surprise animation. We made a ball bounce to a side of the screen and had a little surprise at the end. Many people decided to make the ball explode, disappear, or bounce offscreen, but i decided to make a dog take the ball. This animation was like the previous ball bouncing animation, but with the ball bouncing sideways. I added more frames and understood squish and stretch. I didn't add shine to the ball because my time was limited and i was more focused on the dog.

What I learned was how to make the ball animation run more smoothly and what it is like to add more frames to an animation. I also learned why time is important when animating and why you always want to fix mistakes before it gets worse and ruins your project. This almost happened to me but I was able to save everything before it was deleted.

Next time I will add shine for sure, make sure color is correct before I export the project, and make the dog animation run more smoothly. When I was animating, the color was darker so I thought the dogs nose, eyes, and paws were black. When I exported the product and the brightness turned up, it was actually dark green and i wasn't able to go back in and change it.  I will have make sure that doesn't happen in the future.

Ten Words

In Ecomm, we made our first mini animation. In this animation, we had to use 10 words we thought best described ourselves. We used Photoshop to animate these words and make them move onto the screen. The 10 words used are Adventurer, Artistic, Brave, Creative, Daring, Funny, Happy, Kind, Outgoing, and Strong. Each of these words I chose to use for a reason.

I used adventurer because I like to explore and discover. Traveling to unknown places is lots of fun for me.
I chose artistic because I love art. Drawing is my favorite thing to do, but I can't color or paint things.
I chose brave because in most situations I am not afraid to step down from danger to protect others or do what is right.
Creative kind of goes with artistic when it comes to drawing because I draw whatever I imagine. I also think of cool ways to design things even if I am not drawing.
I am daring because I love to take risks.
I am outgoing because I work hard no matter what and will pick myself up if I fall.
I am kind to everyone no matter who they are .
I am funny and love to make others laugh and have a good time.
I am strong both physically and mentally in lots of situations.
And just like strong, I am always happy in most situations and like to keep a smile on my face.

Chalk Activity

Hello Ravens and Non-Ravens! I hope you enjoy the blog!
On August 23rd, we did a fun activity with a team we were assigned with. First, we met in the Raven's nest to design something that represents us. We got choices of things we can draw on the paper. All of these items represented different things.

Each group had at least 4 people in it. I am in the second group. Everyone was trying to decide what items to choose. I didn't even know someone was taking pictures.

Everyone finally decided what to draw. I was the artist because nobody really wanted to draw. You can see me drawing in this picture, but it wouldn't help if I just said I was the girl in the middle wearing a blue shirt since there are two other girls wearing blue shirts too. I am the girl on the left of the girl with the blue bow in her hair.

I decided to draw a Dragon and some music notes. One girl in our group wanted to draw a pencil, another girl in our group wanted to draw an elephant, and the boy in our group wanted to draw a cube with music notes in it. Then I drew a raven in the middle because it was something that represented all of us. The outside was an intersection sign to show that we are going places.

Day two was a lot more fun. We finally got to draw on the ground with chalk! It was so much fun!
In this picture, I am trying to draw my dragon. It was going well since everyone was getting along. Another thing that was cool is that everyone drew this time. Some of them didn't think their artwork was god, but I liked it.

It took a while, but everyone got done with their drawings. We decided to write our names next to our creations. After that, we walked around to see what everyone else did. Many other groups did really well. I was able to take pictures and find new ways on how to draw animals and objects since I really like drawing.

This group did a really good job. The animals were cool and had life and personality in them. It took me a while to find out what the squirrel was holding, until someone told me it was holding an Xbox controller. This makes me happy because I like to play video games too, and with all the nature in the drawing, I really didn't expect an Xbox controller to be in it. I don't now why, but I still look at this picture and smile.

This one was cool too. The girl who drew the lion has to show me how to do that. I may be good at drawing, but when it comes to color, I couldn't do it to save my life. The Phoenix and bird at the top was really cool too. I'm glad there are so many artists in my hour!

This picture I have to warn you before looking at. There are too many dank memes. If you are not dank enough, you will fall victim to these memes.

I am still proud of my group. Even though we were strangers to each other, we were able to cooperate and work together. I am not in the same class with these people, but I hope that we will be able to see each other again.

Thank you for reading my blog! There will be more in the future, but for now, I hope you all have a good day.
