Creating a Website

Final Project

Over the last week, we made a website. We used Adobe Dreamweaver to help us with a few videos showing us what to do. We had to make two pages on the project. One was for the homepage and the other was for the projects we did throughout the year. It made me smile when I saw all of the projects I did from when I started out to where I am now.

What I Learned

Along the way, I learned how websites work in general. I got to see the code behind every link and every word, I got to see how complicated it was and how it had to be exact for everything to work too. It was a little bit frustrating when something didn't go right, but it was easy to figure it out too. I learned that the process in making a website also took lots of time so you have to be patient in what you were doing.

How I did

In all honesty, I believe I did great on the assignment. I haven't learned about color yet so I let that one slide. Coding and creating websites is not easy, but I got through the task with a great looking webpage. I am proud that I was able to get it done while making it look as neat as I could. It was a little difficult at first, and I messed up quite a bit with the code, but I was able to fix it all.

Conclusion

At the beginning of the project, I had a lit of doubt I would be able to make a website, let alone finish it. But seeing what nice job I did on it makes me proud. It made me believe in myself more and will stop me from doubting myself. Throughout the project, I got a little upset that this was my last time in video for the year because when I saw all of the things i put on my projects page, It make me realize that even though it was schoolwork, I had lots of fun making it. This made me decide to do video and animation next year.

Challenge 3

We made our third challenge video. It was about a chase scene. We worked in a group and thought of ideas of what it should be about. We struggled to think . of ideas when one of our partners said it should be a scene about us stealing something. We quickly thought of stealing a wallet. 3 things we struggled with was finding the correct shots, knowing how many scenes we needed, and figuring out if it would take us a minute. I learned that it is easier to work with a group because it is easier to get ideas and solve bigger problems.

We decided to film on the top floor, the hallways, the stairs, and the downstairs back hallway. We all agreed on this location because it had everything we needed whether it was a wide environment, stairs, or trash bins.

We each chose our jobs during the film. I was the one being chased, and no disagreements took place as we chose our roles. We faced lots of challenges as we filmed. Sometimes we messed up during shots and that cost us some time. Other times, we didn't take shots correctly or had to take multiple shots resulting in more time being spent. One of the shots we messed up in we didn't retake. If i had to correct it, I would have gone back and did another shot correctly.

When I edited my film in premier, there were lots of things that went wrong. The computer started to put clips in the wrong spots, the fade out wouldn't go at the end of the song anymore, when i saved the video, one of the songs went missing and I had to delete it and redo it, and Sneak On the Lot (a sound effect and song website free of copyright) was down and I couldn't find any music. But I still learned and got better at editing videos. What I got better at was finding songs and sound effects. I plan to work on implementing more sound effects into my video next time I film.

Since I worked with my friends, filming went easy with no arguments at all. It was almost the perfect team. We all thought of great ideas and listened to everyone very well. We helped each other out and had lots of fun together. I wouldn't do anything to change what my group did.
